hydrowhat?
There's a growing effort to use hydroponics -- a method of cultivating plants in nutrient-rich water instead of soil -- to bring farming into cities. Hydroponic farming requires less water and less land than traditional farming, and reduces the environmental cost of trucking produce to urban centers. Is this the future of agriculture?
-CNN.com
I have always been interested in growing all sorts of plants and vegtables. I can clearly remember as a child seeing this book at my elementary school about what the future holds for us. I saw the flying cars, space-suit style clothing, ugly haircuts, etc etc. Hydroponics was sorta in the picture then. I remember them talking about having floating sea-gardens where they filtered out the salt. Crazy.

another day another dollar... and another month gone by
mondays. blech. yuck. bah.
so another day here. cant believe its november already. thanksgiving means honey baked hams... so exited for that. then all of a sudden the wife and i are making our Christmas list and trying to not forget those relatives that we see once per year during the holidays. such an awkward time. i hate seeing those folks who always seem nice, but there is absolutely nothing in common for us to chat about. i am not into sports, and they are usually not into the music and lifestyle of the things i follow. "hmm, sooo... how is everything uh, going uncle/aunt /cousin ____?" then the same question back to me. oh well. i cant wait until the wife and i reproduce and then can use the excuse of, "well the baby needs feeding" or "the kids, uh, need to go home and nap, etc. etc"
oh the joys ahead.
until next time...

word on the streets...
lots and lots of stuff going on...
SUMMER is here. August is my favorite month here on the island. Great for the outdoors, even though my wife tells me I hibernate most of the time switching from the computer to the t.v. and back. What a slob. We talked yesterday that having our two dream dogs of an english bulldog (me) and a rhodesian ridgeback (her) would make us more prone to excercise. While that is great and all, I dont really think I like the feeling of being forced to go and walk/jog/whatever. I think it should come from within. I should want to feel better and look better. Holla? Indeed.
Anyways. Its been way long yet again since I have posted. Wonder when it will happen next?

Been forever...
No excuse why, but its been waaaayyyy too long here. Life is good. Doing an engine overhaul @ work, so Im pretty tired after a days work. Most the time I got it good there doing basic engine maintence; oil & fuel filters, torquing bolts & nuts, checking clearances, etc, etc. I like edison. Thank you Lord for a career opportunity with no college degree. I may go to arizona next weekend with Jay from work. Hope that turns out well. Cassie is going the following weekend with a girlfriend or two up to wine country. Napa I think. Should be a nice weekend getaway/birthday celebration. Dang... my wife... turning 26?!?! I dunno when kids are in the picture but I think I only have a year or two left.
Rock on...
